Enduring Love
I remember once being so in-love that everything seemed about it
every love song, yes
but also
tallĀ buildings
and still-blind newborn kittens
and big waves you can hear crashing
even when it's too dark to see them
In a muddy puddle
I could see our future
Inevitable
And as natural as water plus dirt
That love, those heights
Made us a living mirror
For all the joy and pain in the world
I remember thinking
This cannot maintain
But while it will
I am one with everything.
